After a harsh year of wars, natural disasters and epidemics, Doctors of the World wanted to convey a message of hope for their annual Christmas fundraising campaign. When the campaign was launched in mid-December 2016, Aleppo, in Syria, had been under siege for over a month. Many civilians were being wounded or killed every day, sadly, making the campaign even more relevant. « The Beauty of the World » plays on an apparent paradox. On the idea that you can find some true beauty in the darkest places in the world and that it is up to everyone to help create that beauty. And many people helped: Doctors of the World surpassed their fundraising goals, raising 1.2M euros during the campaign, a 4% increase over the previous year.
