With schools across the country closing for summer, millions of young children will be taking to the outdoors in search of fun. And while fun in the sun undoubtedly lies ahead, so too does the risk of melanoma, as just five sunburns can increase a child’s risk of melanoma by 80%. Mr. Sun, a new PSA for melanoma awareness, paints a moving portrait of seemingly innocent childhood moments in the sun. The video features a haunting rendition of the beloved childhood song “Mr. Sun” and is a heartbreaking plea to parents to protect their children and avoid the tragic loss of life caused by overexposure to the sun.
