The brief was to create a campaign that celebrated the coming together of two iconic brands. The Volkswagen Beetle and Fender sound system that’s installed in the new Beetle. Both brands have a rich heritage and we needed to find a way to unite them in a fresh, interesting way. Fender is the hallmark of great music, always delivered with unparalleled clarity. The Beetle also has a unique reputation of it’s own, so we combined great music with words that can be used to describe the car. We made the car the hero and placed famous lyrics from various genres above it. The Beetle completes the lyric, illustrating that the two brands were quite simply made for each other.
